A fire door only performs as a complete set. Leaf, frame, intumescent and smoke seals, glazing, hinges, closer and lock all have to be correct and compatible, because that is how the doorset was tested (to BS EN 1634-1 or BS 476-22) and how it is expected to behave. We install new doorsets in line with the manufacturer's tested specification and field of application, and we remediate existing doors within that same scope. Where a repair would take a door outside what its specification allows, we say so and price the replacement instead.
