Shawford Fire Stopping is now fully third-party accredited through IFC Certification. It is independent recognition of the systems, processes and people behind the division's passive fire protection work, not just the installations themselves.
From day one, the aim has never been to simply install fire protection. It has been to build a business around competence, quality and accountability.
Passive fire protection is one of the few trades where the work disappears behind a wall the moment it is finished. What is left is the record: what was installed, where, to which tested detail, and who signed it off. Getting that right is a question of how a business is set up, and that is what third party certification examines.

What it means for clients
Certification gives clients confidence that our installations are independently assessed, completed to recognised standards and backed by full traceability.
That traceability is not new to the division. Every install is plotted against the floor plans, photographed at the point of installation and tied to its location record, so the evidence is captured as the work happens rather than assembled at handover. It is the approach set out on the Golden Thread page, and certification now puts an independent stamp on it.
Recognition of the people behind it
The feedback throughout the assessment process has reinforced something we've believed from the start: investing in the right people and robust systems, and doing things properly, is the right approach. Third party accreditation looks at a business as a whole rather than at one job on one site, so this is as much a recognition of the operatives, supervisors and quality discipline behind the work as it is of any single installation.
This isn't the finish line. It's another step forward as we continue to develop Shawford Fire Stopping and raise the standard of passive fire protection we deliver. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.
Projects. People. Protected.
